Hello everyone this is Breanna Rutter author of one of my most popular books the natural hair Bible and founder of howtoblackhair.com for these videos I answer the question that you all send me via email so if you have any questions that you like for me answer check out the description box below for more information so the focus of this video is about an email that I received from Erica Erica emailed me saying that she's been interested in using glycerin she has been reading around some hair forums and boards and such and she doesn't know if it is going to be best for her because some people say that some people say that it's too sticky then some people says it does great with their hair care products and Regimens so she just wanted clarification especially on when it will be a good situation to use glycerin and other additional things as well so this video is all about glycerin and me personally I don't use glycerin to care for my hair not because I don't want to but because it is not needed for me I am fine using some simple products to help me maintain my hair and the longer you are in your hair journey you will realize that as long as you have your staple products you don't have to worry about trying every new path that comes about especially if you are educated in your hair about what you actually need to have in your product when using glycerin glycerin alone is just a humectant what a humectant does is it attracts water to the surface of anything so if you have glycerin on your hair your attracting water to your hair which allows your hair to be more plump and moisturized now you don't need to use glycerin if you already maintain moisturize hair very well but if you want to experiment with it to see if it's something that can help you then go ahead and try it but there is a specific types of ways that you should incorporate glycerin so that it is a cause your hair to be sticky to use g now the best way lycerin when caring for your hair is in your deep conditioners this is perfect the perfect foundation to any deep conditioner is if it's filled with humectants so you can even make your own homemade deep conditioner with glycerin banana you could possibly use a little bit of mayo and especially honey honey banana and glycerin are three things that are natural humectants i that s going to draw so much water to your hair to keep your hair very moisturized now the problem with using glycerin is depending on your location so if you live somewhere where it's very humid a lot of the times than if you put a little bit of glycerin in your hair it will keep your hair especially when you are wearing twists and braids very plump and juicy and moisturized now if you live in drier climate say for instance like you live in maybe Arizona or you live in Mexico or you live somewhere where the air is very dry and non-humid (correction) then you are going to notice that when you were glycerin on your hair is going to make it feel sticky all of this is dependent on how much glycerin you use the a lot of glycerin it will give you two different types of results depending on your situation and both will be very severe you will have very limp hair when you're in a very moisturizing type of environment (meaning high humidity) and then you will have very sticky hair if you are in a dry environment (low humidity) so you just want to experiment with it just a and bit in the best way to ease into it and use a deep conditioning product so that way you can understand how to start using it and whether or not you think is something that you need to add to your regimen anyway so thanks for your email and also I want to thank you all for watching these videos and before any of you go make sure to sign up for my email list because only there I update you with exclusive content and also you will be entered into giveaways that I do so until next time I'll see you in my very next video
