VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Hello everyone this is Breanna Rutter author of the book is the natural hair Bible and founder of howtoblackhair.com and for these videos I like to answer the questions you all send me via email so any of you have any questions you would like for me to answer be sure to check out the description box below for additional information so I got to get right on into the video in this video is a response to an email I received from Naya, Naya emailed me because she said is really struggling with her natural hair because she's suffering from dry hair and dandruff so I’m sorry to hear that and I am but I'm extremely glad that you emailed me because I'm going to help you I'm going to give you a lot of tips and tricks and a lot of advice on how to stop your hair from being dry and how to solve your dandruff issues so you can be on track for having healthy natural hair so the first thing I'm going to stay is that you should probably make sure that you have thoroughly implemented a hair regimen or you need to alter some things in your hair regimen I don't know if you already have a schedule or a set way of how you handle your hair I don't know how often you shampoo your hair or condition your hair or if you apply any other type of products to your hair and I'm not sure whether not even if your products are of quality so what I'm first going to mention is that I want you to make sure that your gauging what your hair needs are for some women it's better for them to shampoo wash their hair twice a month which is once every two weeks and then co wash once a week for others it's better for them to shampoo wash once a week and co wash a couple of times a week and this fluctuates depending on how often your shedding your dead skin and over time shed skin that is not being watched from your hair is what dandruff is dandruff is a buildup of dead skin cells makes a lot of oils and things that's why sometimes it would even look a little bit slightly a yellow tone or even feel sticky because it's just a combination of dead skin and oils that are naturally secreted from the scalp so in order to stop the engine from happening you most likely you have to wash her hair little bit more frequently that doesn't mean you have to shampoo wash her hair more if you already do what you need to make sure your cleansing hair so co washing is a great thing you can do to stop your hair from having so much dandruff I've done a video extensively on a different natural hair terminology that you may not have known so make sure to search this channel for additional videos you have more questions but cowashing is the process of just watching your hair with conditioner so that way if you do have a very strong shampoo it's not a stripping on your hair my second thing is that I want you to make sure that you have quality products now me personally I never like to mention a specific brand of hair product that you should use and the number one reason why is because at any point in time someone's formula could change whether they just upgrade the way that they're making a product or they decide to implement some new ingredients in our product if you don't know what to look for your products you going to have a hard time picking something that could work a lot of times I would see a lot of our natural women get very disappointed in different brands specifically because they will change their formula so one conditioner they used to always use will be slightly different and its not really working for the hair like it used to now in most cases things like this don't normally happen but this is a factor when you are using products so that's why I want you to make sure that you know what you're looking for and you know what kind of things are kind of ingredients you need that will work best for your specific hair which leads me to my next tip and in all cases when there's questions like these when I come across a question like yours that's about not knowing how to combat dandruff or not knowing how to fight against dry hair normally has a lot to do with things that you may be doing to your hair you're not conscious of for some things that you may not have never thought that you needed to start doing with your hair and is the sole reason why I wrote my book I wrote my book the natural hair Bible to help you to understand not only how to go natural but also how to find products according to the ingredients I have extensive graphs and extensive charts that I have written out and shown you which products to not which products but what ingredients to look for in a product and then when you see those trigger ingredients or those things that are not ever good for your hair to not even buy that product so instead of jsut suggestin to you all use such and such cleanser to cleanse your dandruff or use this to wash her hair is not one size fits all every head of hair is different so you know what oils work best for your hair or if glycerin works best for your hair or how often it's better for you to make sure to remoisturize your hair with water all those are factors into you learning how to do with your hair and what your hair needs are and I'm here to help you in every way that I can and that's why with your type of question in different questions that are similar to these always suggest that you make sure to learn the basics because if you understand the basics of taking care of your hair you will not have problems with dandruff and dry hair because you will know it was going on and exactly what to do to have your hair in any situation so if you have not checked out my book make sure to check it out check out the description box for any additional links on anything that I may have mentioned in this video they can also help you as well so be sure to keep in mind that we you are combating dandruff and dry hair that you first have to do is learn the basic needs of black hair so that way you're not avoiding the issues that are very common which are easily fixable and that you implement a regimen that works to keep your hair moisturized and balanced as well so thank you for sending me the email and I want to thank you all for watching my videos as well be sure to keep all those emails coming so I can keep these videos coming and before any of you go make sure to check out the description box to enter
