Breanna Rutter

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Hello everyone this is Breanna Rutter author of the book the natural hair Bible and founder of howtoblackhair.com for the special videos I love to answer all of the questions you all send me via email so if you have any additional questions that you will like for me to answer be sure to check out the description box below for more information so without further ado were going to get right into it and previously I just received an email from a lady named Terry, Terry told me that she is to trimming her hair and she wants to know how often she should trim her hair so I'm going to be as general as I possibly can because she didn't tell me any specifics as far as if she likes to wear her hair free and she does a lot of protective styling or she wears a lot of extensions or weaves on her hair so my first piece of advice is going to generally apply to all those categories is that you want to trim your hair at least every 3 to 4 months this is not the Golden fit all standard this is typically speaking for different people who hair fits into different types of situations so if you like to wear your ends really free asay for instance you do wash and go’s or you wear a story always wearing a hair twisted if you're not sure often the trims stick with about every 3 to 4 months this time frame will make sure to keep damaged hair at bay even if you're not trimming all of your damaged hair so that's just generally speaking also I wanted to let her know that if you're still not sure as far as how often to trim your hair then just don't trim it if you want to do it by yourself don't trim unless you are absolutely sure you are cutting hair damage and the reason why I say don't trim your hair is because if you cut your hair not knowing if you cutting hair damage going to start to regress in length that you're actually trying to gain so if you're not sure when to cut your hair or you're not comfortable doing it I always suggest that you go to a professional so that they can take care of it they have done all the schooling to make sure that when they're handling your hair they are doing everything to the best of their ability so if you're not sure when to cut your hair don't cut it until you start to notice damage look at your ends really closely to see if you see any split ends any knots on the ends of your hair or your ends of your hair just feels very dry or very crunchy or just not likely for the hair condition that you would like and as far as it goes with trimming your hair some people like to do so on who hair some people like to do so on wet hair and some like to do so on dry hair and is up to your preference if you always like to wear your hair straightened out then I suggest that you trim your damaged hair on dry hair so that you can realistically see how your hair will look and the shape it will be when you wear your hair straightened out now if you like to wear your hair curly then I suggest that you cut it on who hair and if all goes to preference because I know some of you may experience a lot of shrinkage while your hair is wet who and then when you like to wear dry you notice that so uneven so you should trim cut your hair when it's dry so those are my suggestions as far as trimming your hair and cutting your hair and when it all down don't cut it and if you still not sure go to a stylist so Terry I hope that that question is help you and give you guidance as to how often you need to trim your hair and all that is videos helping all the while watching as well and if you have any more questions we want to know any more details far as trimming goes be sure to check out the description box below but until then I'll see you all in my next video
