#1 Only use protein products when your hair feels very elastic and limp

Deep conditioning your hair weekly will reinforce healthy thick hair along with using a protein product to maintain the health of your hair. Deep conditioners allow for your hair to become thoroughly moisturized from the inside out and this enables the hair to withstand heat and constant manipulation without hair breakage.
