Use hair that you would use for long box braids.

Box Braids/Single Braids Extensions are individual braids with weave and they favor box braids or single braids but they are about double the size of a Zillion Micro Braid.

You can use whatever hair you want, sometimes I like to use silky straight hair and other times, I want it to look really full and kinky so it's your preference.

Use your regular braiding synthetic hair to achieve the results I achieved.

Step 2

Box Braid Extensions Step By Step Tutorial Single Synthetic Hair Part 2

When braiding on natural hair, you always want to be extremely gentle with your hair.

If you are not careful with your hair, that will reflect in the health of your hair.

Too much rough handling on your tresses will result in split damaged ends and hair loss which in the long run stunt the growth of your hair.

Wearing a protective style like this Box Braids/Single Braids Extensions Hairstyle is great in retaining length but if you always comb aggressively or handle your hair in a rough manner, many of your hair saving methods will go to waste.

Also, remember when that you do Box Braids/Single Braids you can make your braids as long as you want.

The ultimate look of a style is to your discretion.

Step 3

Single Box Braid Salon Quality Hair Tips And Advice Tutorial Part 3

When braiding your Box Braids/Single Braids extensions, make sure to take your time!

I know it's fun and even if you know what you are doing, you want to be careful with the way that you handle the hair on your head.

Be careful that when you braid your hair that it isn't too tight.

Your extensions should feel snug with only a slight pull, if you feel uncomfortable, have headaches or pain, that is your scalp letting you know that the tension is unbearable.

Braiding the hair too tight does help the style last for a little bit longer but it also encourages hair loss which no one wants!

You can reduce this greatly by braiding at a tightness that is comfortable for you.

So many times, I used to braid my hair too tight just to make it "last longer" and I would be hurting myself in the end.

Take your time and stick to what you know works for you and keep working and practicing as your do your Box Braids/Single Braids!

Step 4

How To Do Your Own Single Box Braids On Yourself fast And In A Rush Tutorial Part 4

When doing your Box Braids/Single Braids Extensions, there may be a time, or two, when other priorities intervene.

There may be times when you have to go out to get something to eat, you may have to cook for your family, or make it on time to work.

Doing your individual braids/Box Braids/Single Braids in a rush with my method will show you results that seems as if your hair has been finished.

Braid your hair around the perimeter of your head so that when those inconveniences force you to take a break from your hair, you can put your hair into a ponytail to continue on later.

Step 5

How To Seal The Ends Of Your Box Braids Tutorial Poetic Justice Hairstyle Part 5

As you are finish braiding your hair for your Box Braids/Single Braids Hairstyle, next you will be sealing the ends of your hair.

Usually the hair that you use to achieve this braid style is synthetic so it is not best advice to use your curlers or a curling wand to curl the ends of your Box Braids/Single Braids extensions.

Adding heat from a curling iron can potentially melt the extensions or the curl from the curling iron may not give you your best curl result for this style.

It is best to simply dip the ends of the Box Braids/Single Braids in hot water.

Be careful and avoid dripping hot water on yourself and avoid burning your scalp with hot.

Once you thoroughly dry off the braid, run your fingers through the braids and to trim away any flimsy ends.

Step 7

3 Hairstyles For Single Box Braids Tutorial Part 7

There are so many different types of ways to style Box Braids/Single Braids because individual braids offer so much versatility in the first place.

With your Box Braids/Single Braids Hairstyle, depending on your length, you can put all of your braids into a ponytail or let them hang free.

You can also use bobby pins to secure certain braids into place or use headbands and scarves to accessorize your protective style with extensions.

In this tutorial I will be using styling tools like headbands, scarves, hair pins, and other hair accessories to style my Zillion Micro Braids Hairstyle on natural hair.

Step 8

How To Take Down Your Own Single Box Braids Safely Tutorial Part 8

Now it's time to take down or unistall your Box Braids/Single Braids.

If you would rather sport your hairstyle for another couple of days or even weeks feel free but remember to take care of your hair.

When I wear any type of hair style, it is a MUST that I add moisture to my hair at least once a week.

I use my spray bottle concoction to add moisture to my hair.

Remember to release your braids out of a pinned style at least once a week to add some moisture to your hair.

If your hair requires less moisture, that's fine.

Do to your hair what your hair needs because if you let conditions worsen, your hair ends up paying for it.

When taking down your Box Braids/Single Braids all you have to do is unravel them from the bottom and work your way up.

Sometimes I like to cut of the very bottom of the braids because the curled ends can become extremely interlocked which makes it hard to take them down.

If you are sure or unsure as to whether or not where your hair ends along the braids, take them down with your hands until you are comfortable with cutting the ends to speed up the process.

Its really easy and simple and once you get the technique down, you will be addicted to the ease of this style!
