Hello everyone this is Breanna Rutter author of my most popular books The Natural Hair Bible and founder of howtoblackhair.com for these videos I love to answer the questions that you all send me via email so if any of you have any questions that you like for me to answer be sure to check out the description box below for additional information so today this email or this video is because of an email that I received from Anna Anna says that she's having a hard time keeping her braids in her hair dry when she showering she says that yes I use a shower cap when I'm taking a shower but it still doesn't work so is there anything she can do cause she's tired of her edges and her hairline getting really poofy and she needs some help so Anna yes I can help you because I've too had the same experience when I'm taking a shower right now Im wearing individual tree braids and yes I still need to shower when I have braids or any other style so when I'm in the shower what I like to do is put all of my hair up into a high bun take a shower and then when I get out is when I wash my face behind my ears and things like that now for some individuals they may not like this because of habit because when your in the shower you want to get your whole face wet and shower all around and when you get out you're like oh no have water all over my braids and my edges are poofy so what I'm going to suggest to your is that you can try that you can take a shower put all of your braids into a high bun but when you get out wash your face and your ears and things like that or another option that you can do is to use a plastic bag so when you go grocery shopping or if you have any plastic bags at your house you can just use a large bag and tie around your hairline and make sure to tie it tight so no moisture seeps in the top can be a little bit poofy but make sure the bag is laying very tight around your hairline take the two handles of the bag and tie into a secure knot behind you and then you can take a shower and wash your face and get water everywhere and when you take the bag off your braids will be dry so voila I've fixed your situation so thank you for email Anna and also I want to thank you all for watching as well so until next time I'll see you on my very next video.
