of you have any questions you like for me to answer be sure to check out the description box below for additional information so without further ado was on the right on into the video and today this video is a inspired by and email I received from Indy in the emailed me because she said that she has made the move from natural hair to relaxed hair but this time around she is saying that noticing that she is having some difficulties with detangling her hair she mentioned that she has issues with mating and she’s having issues with a lot of knots breakage because it's kind of difficult for her to detangle her hair effectively so she wants me to know if there's any tips that she needs to incorporate when detangling her hair what she should do or is all the stuff just in her hair so Indy no it's not all in your head your noticing the things that you need to adjust and that's why I'm here to give you the information that you need help you with your hair some I’m glad you sent me that email and I'm going to give three tips or reasons or pointers in a sense of what will gauge you as to how to make sure you're effectively detangling your relaxed hair so the very first thing I'm going to say is that typically speaking most commonly as well is that relaxed hair will have a tendency to Matt when it's wet and then natural hair will have a tendency to tangle when its wet now there's a difference between matting and tangling was something is tangle is pretty easy to get it separated just imagine if you have a lot of wires or cords and things tangled together you can get it more unraveled now just imagine if you have a lot of tangles and cords that are mated to each other it's very hard for the cords or things that you have tangled together to move around one another to effectively detangling that in a sense that's what's going on with natural hair and relaxed and when it is wet so keep that in mind and just know that relaxed hair does have a tendency to stick more together the strands have more of a tendency to stick together and Matt when it is wet so that leads me to my second pointer and that is it best to the table relaxed hair when it is to ride in is better to the tangled natural hair when it is wet these hair has two different types of physicality’s that are going on natural hair and relaxed hair swells with water and expands in size and is wet so both of those days are common but the thing that's different is that the structure of relaxed hair is a little bit more different than natural hair natural hair will continue to wind and coil and bend and twist as it's wet and relaxed doesn’t it just stays slick down and that doesn't create much friction or glide between the strands so what I highly suggest is that when you are detangling your relaxed hair you doing so when it's dry as detangle your hair when it is dry now as you detangle through your straight ends of your relaxed hair and then you get your new growth at this point you can have a little bit of water or little bit of a slip agent likes oils or some conditioner to help you to finish detangling or you can do detangle with your comb if you don't have much new growth so this depends on your type of hair if you have anywhere between type 3 hair to type 2 hair type 3 hair or maybe like for a hair be hair in that range you will notice that you can get the cob for your hair a little bit more easily than I will be with something like 4C hair in some cases if you have 4C hair you will notice that even if you have just a little bit of new growth you got to fight through the new growth to get it detangled so whichever situation applies if you can get the call through your dry hair that's best because relaxed hair is much stronger when it should dry them when it's wet so what you want to do is use your comb and gently start ate the ends and work your way up one dry hair to detangle it and then proceed with the regular things that you doing your washing so if you braid your hair sections or twist your hand sections or you just washing sections with your hair being in duck bill clips then do your normal routine just make sure your detangling your relaxed hair that way and then also a bonus that I want to add is that when you're detangling natural hair you want to do so when it's wet and when its slippery wet hair is when it is expanded has a lot more flexibility so is better to glide through curls that will break every enter of a comb when it's wet and also when it has some type slip want to suggest oils or conditions on the hair putting something on the hair while its wet as well will also elongated in the more you can have natural hair elongated the easier it is to stop the ends from coiling around another creating a lot of knots and tangles and my third thing that I'm going to get which you probably already know but I have to address and put it out there is that please always detangling your hair with a wide tooth comb if your hair is fine and then if your hair is thick and course your hair is thick and curly if your hair is thin and curly it doesn't matter you have to detangle with a wide to call teeth equals less tension on the hair which equals less breakage so make sure you always using a wide tooth comb when you're detangling your hair and if necessary I would always suggest that you use your hands to the detangle if you can effectively do that better anyway because with your fingers you can feel the knots a lot more faster and you can feel the size of the knots a lot better than putting a call to your hair when you're combing your hair if you've ever had issues with it snapping a lot against answers to be really hard to get your sections hey why not try using your fingers to finger detangle run your fingers through your hair was full of conditioner and full of moisture which is water run your fingers throguh feel for any knots and tables and release that with your fingers instead of raking a comb for your hair so as not all in your head Indy you are having problems with detangling your hair because most likely it seems like you're probably doing it while it's wet so this time do it while its dry and to help soften your roots if it's hard for you to do so add a littlebit of water little bit of conditioner to help you to slide the comb through as well so thank you for sending me that question I hope that the question she sent is also have been all of you out there who have wondered as well will how the best way to actually detangle relaxed hair and natural hair as well so thanks again and
