How To Go Perm Free to Natural | Relaxed Hair to Natural Hair

Breanna Rutter

Samantha needs help going perm free and also she is thinking of cutting her hair because the nape is not growing. The only hair care product she mentions using is olive oil on her hair.

Hair Tip #1 Before You Buy Hair Products or Cut Your Hair Off, Educate Yourself With My Book

This why I created my book, The Natural Hair Bible, because the core of everyone’s hair care problems and concerns is a lack of the fundamentals of hair care. Going natural from relaxed hair can go wrong fast when you aren’t sure what’s necessary and how to actually take care of your hair in the in between process known as transitioning. My book will walk you through the process step by step whether or not you want to transition or do the big chop to reach your goal of natural hair.

Hair Tip #2 Message Your Nape Hair, Message with Your Olive Oil or Coconut Oil

Messaging your scalp with oils is not a popular hair care tip but it is an easy tip that can be implemented because messaging only takes a couple of minutes to do. The easiest way you can do this is to create a mixture of cold pressed virgin oils in an applicator bottle, lubricate your finger tips and message your hair line and scalp. This process does two very important and crucial things for the health of your hair; increases blood flow to deliver more nutrients to your hair follicles and internally strengthen and moisturize your hair to prevent dryness (which prevents breakage). To be consistent in scalp messaging, do this while in the shower or right before bed time every night to encourage growth.

Hair Tip #3 Try The Inversion Method

The Inversion Method for hair growth is a very popular technique many individuals like to do to speed up the process of their hair growth. Hair grows an average of ½ and inch a month but many have witnessed growth of length at a rate on an inch a to an inch and a half a month! For health reasons, this technique should be avoided by those who have high blood pressure and or a history of stroke. To learn more information about the inversion method, check it out on my hair care website!
