A chemical relaxer straightens or "relaxes" the curl pattern of your hair because a relaxer permanently straightens your hair. If you do not want your natural hair straightened permanently, a relaxer is not the way to go!

A texturizer slightly relaxes your hair so instead of permanently straightened hair, your hair is permanently elongated to preserve the pattern in your hair. A texturizer permanently alters your hair and this process is irreversible changes your hair as well. Neither product can widen your curls, a relaxer takes out all of your curls and a texturizer elongates your curls.

Hair Tip #2 Your Curls Will Look Stretched, Not Widened

If you want the help of a product to permanently stretch or elongate your curls, a texturizer is the best option to go if you want a permanent altering change with your hair.

Hair Tip #3 Wear Curly Hair Extensions

Wearing curly hair extensions is the ONLY WAY you can have the look of widened curls with your hairstyle. The way to blend this different curl pattern with your hair requires some work on your end such as using a flat iron to straighten and curl your hair or hair rollers to blend your leave out with your curly extensions. To avoid the use of heat styling on your natural hair or having to use perm rods to blend your leave out, wearing a full weave is the better option in that case.
