How To Go Natural Without Cutting Hair Off With A Big Chop

Breanna Rutter

Amnesty asked this question because she has had long hair all her life and she never takes the plunge to go natural because everyone says she has to big chop.

Hair Tip #1 Style your hair as infrequent as possible. You have a high risk of breakage because of your line of demarcation

Line of Demarcation: the point where your relaxed hair and natural hair meet and when referring to hair color, the point where your natural hair color and the artificial hair color meet. This is the area of your hair that is prone to breakage because this is the weakest point of your hair in both situations whether your hair is colored or you are transitioning to natural hair.

Hair Tip #2 Perm rods, flexi rods, and straw sets will be your best friend to give you the most blend with your hair.

Hair Tip #3 One day, you will have to cut off your relaxed or texlaxed hair from your natural hair. You can of course long time transition, plenty women have, but at one point or another, every transitioner had to cut off their relaxed hair to lessen the chance of breakage. Make that move when necessary or when you are comfortable.
